Even Better If...
Our Story
EBI was founded in August 2019 by Mike Conaghan. Mike is a trained teacher who has worked in or with schools for the last two decades. Starting his career in Education as a behaviour mentor in a South London school, Mike was exposed to some of the complex challenges facing a great deal of children and young people in the area.

After eight successful years at his first school where he eventually served as Assistant Principal, Mike took on a new challenge at a start-up school in Lambeth where an inspirational former colleague had been appointed head. As part of a ten-strong teaching and support team, they worked tirelessly to develop a culture of learning which had at its heart optimism, curiosity, gratitude and mutual respect. It was indeed a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and one which has helped shape the vision for Even Better If....

Now entering its sixth year supporting school and teacher development, EBI is fast becoming recognised as an organisation that lives and breathes quality and innovation. Schools trust EBI not only because of the knowledge and experience that are our hallmark, but because of the integrity and compassion that upholds everything we do. Teachers and support staff know that they will get first-class mentoring, training and development with EBI. With a consistent focus on wellbeing, we know that we are doing our bit to help teachers through the diverse challenges that working in schools can bring .
Our record with pupils speaks for itself, with all of those tutored and assessed through EBI achieving top grades in 16 different languages at GCSE and A-Level and those pupils who have been trialling our learning app, Kiall, have shown great enthusiasm for the product as well as offering great insights into what will help the product to become a successful learning tool.

Our flagship Meant to Mentor programme is the latest EBI innovation, offering free mentoring support to teachers from our team of highly experienced and highly skilled team of teaching mentors. With a pilot programme underway, we are hoping to reach out to tens, perhaps hundreds of teachers over the course of the next academic year. Watch this space!
